At 6 pm, I'm sitting here thinking how much I like the long, rolling thunder that I can hear approaching. It's very low pitched and the rumble just goes on and on for a long time. There's no lightning that I can see and I'm not thinking anything about bad weather.
Until. Until Steven turns on the local weather report and I can see that we're under a severe thunderstorm warning with possibilities of hail and tornadoes. That's my “T” word for the day, then.
I hopped over to the web site of one of the DFW TV stations—WFAA, the ABC affiliate for the DFW Metroplex. I captured a couple of screen shots of the storm approaching our little town of Sanger, and used them to illustrate today's scrapbook page. (After all, any photo I would take would likely be pretty poor since it's almost dark outside by now.)
It's now almost 7:30 and the storm is still approaching. Wind is picking up and I'm seeing the occasional lightning flash to go with the ever-present thunder. I guess the thunderstorm will be on top of us in the next 20 to 30 minutes. Here's hoping that we don't see any tornadoes.
